Buttock and Hip Filler At-Home Care Guide

Congratulations on your buttock or hip filler treatment at Body Studio Skincare. Proper at-home care is essential for optimal results and a smooth recovery. Please follow these guidelines to ensure your comfort and safety:

Immediate Post-Treatment Care:

  • Rest and Recovery:

    • Allow yourself time to rest and avoid strenuous activities for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.

    • While rest is important, try to engage in light walking to promote circulation and prevent blood clots.

  • Ice Therapy:

    • Apply ice packs wrapped in a clean cloth to the treated areas intermittently for the first 24 to 48 hours to reduce swelling and discomfort.

    • Apply ice for 15-20 minutes at a time, with breaks in between, as needed.

  • Avoid Pressure on the Treated Areas:

    • Refrain from sitting or lying directly on your buttocks or hips for the first few days following the procedure.

    • When sitting or lying down, use a cushion or pillow to offload pressure from the treated areas.

Managing Discomfort and Swelling:

  • Pain Management:

    • Take any prescribed pain medications as directed by your provider.

    • If over-the-counter pain relievers are recommended, avoid NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or aspirin) as they can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be a safer option.

  • Compression Garments:

    • Your provider may recommend wearing compression garments to help reduce swelling and support the treated areas. Follow their instructions regarding garment usage and duration.

Hygiene and Wound Care:

  • Keep the Area Clean:

Cleansing Guideline:

  • Gather Supplies:

    • Before beginning, gather all the necessary supplies, including clean gauze pads or swabs, alcohol,  clean water, and any prescribed wound care products.

  • Wash Your Hands:

    • Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to minimize the risk of introducing bacteria to the wound.

  • Clean the Surrounding Area:

    • Use a clean gauze pad or swab soaked in the  alcohol to gently clean the skin around the wound. Start from the center and work outward to avoid contaminating the wound

  • Pat Dry:

    • After cleansing, gently pat the wound and surrounding skin dry with a clean, dry gauze pad or towel. Avoid rubbing, as this can irritate the wound.

  • Apply Medications (If Applicable):

    • If your healthcare provider has prescribed any topical medications or ointments, apply them according to their instructions after cleansing the wound.

  • Cover the Wound (If Necessary):

    • Depending on the type of wound and your healthcare provider's recommendations, you may need to cover the wound with a sterile dressing or bandage to protect it from further contamination.

    • After completing the wound cleansing process, wash your hands thoroughly once more to reduce the risk of infection.

  • Follow-up Care:

    • Follow any additional instructions provided by your healthcare provider for ongoing wound care and monitoring.

Remember to always consult with your healthcare provider for specific instructions tailored to your individual wound care needs. If you notice any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, warmth, or drainage from the wound, contact your healthcare provider promptly for further evaluation and treatment.

  • Avoid Hot Environments:

    • Refrain from hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least one week post-procedure, as heat can exacerbate swelling and discomfort.

Follow-Up Care:

  • Scheduled Follow-Up Appointments:

    • Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with your provider to monitor your progress and address any concerns.

  • Report Any Concerns:

    • If you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, redness, warmth, or drainage from the injection sites, contact your provider immediately.

Long-Term Care:

  • Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle:

    • Follow a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as these factors can affect your body's healing process and overall results.

  • Avoid Extreme Physical Activities:

    • Refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that put pressure on the buttocks and hips for at least two weeks post-procedure to allow the filler to settle properly.

Remember, every individual's recovery may vary, so it's essential to follow your provider's specific instructions and recommendations for post-treatment care. If you have any questions or concerns during your recovery process, don't hesitate to reach out to Body Studio Skincare for guidance and support.

We wish you a smooth recovery and fantastic results from your buttock and hip filler treatment!
